Obituary for ARMIJO

Joe R. Armijo, 55, went home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2004. He was born on October 8, 1948 in San Antonio, NM. Joe moved to Gallup 19 years ago. He worked for Coors Maloof for 30 years and for T&R Market for two years. Joe is preceded in death by his father, Perfecto Armijo; and mother, Juanita; brother, Johnny Armijo; and his mother-in-law, Valentina Chavez. Joe was a great family man and friend; he also was a great dancer and a #1 Lobo fan. He was a dedicated father, special grandpa, and enjoyed telling stories and jokes, and he also loved the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Armijo; son, Ray A. Armijo and wife, Martha; daughters, Melissa Gallegos and husband, Albert Romero and Marlo Armijo; son-in-law, Noah Griego; brothers, Junior and wife, Rosemary, Anthony Armijo, Ralph Armijo, Jerry Armijo, and Arturo Armijo; sister, Gloria Armijo; sisters-in-law, Nadine Lopez, Rosie Keesecker, Lori Anderson, April Hopper, and Allen Hopper and Son, Isaiah; grandchildren, D.J. Gallegos, Shannon Armijo, J.J. Gallegos, Amber Armijo; and many godchildren, nieces, and nephews. Joe will be deeply missed by his loving family. Visitations will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. also at San Jose Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Noah Griego, D.J. Gallegos, Eric Encee, Nemesio Martinez, Albert Romero and Anthony Armijo. Honorary pallbearers will be Genaro Villanueva, Ray Gomez, Charlie Aragon, Eddie Romero, Danny Gonzales, Joe Abeyta, The Breakfast Club, and his fast pitch family.
