Obituary for WENK

Mildred Wenk, 78, went to be with her Lord on August 31, 2004, surrounded by her daughters, Pat Lodge and husband, Larry of Albuquerque and Gayle Cheverie and husband, Jim of Aztec. She was born in San Jon, NM and was a graduate of Albuquerque High School where she met her husband, Eris Wenk. Mildred and Eris owned a farm in the South Valley of Albuquerque and were strong supporters of agriculture in New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eris; brother, Donald Scott; and grandson, Scott Lodge. In addition to her daughters, she is survived by her granddaughter, Shanna (Lodge) Ivey and husband, Clay of Las Cruces; sister, Mlle McCrary of T or C; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Scott of Corrales; brother-in-law, John and wife, Grace Wenk of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Loris and husband, Joe Ward of Albuquerque; and her beloved nieces and nephews. She was an active charter member of Valley Christian Church and was head of the fellowship committee for many years. Mildred's friends and family were always amazed by her boundless energy and generosity and they are richer for knowing her. Services will be held Friday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor David Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
