Mr. Leonard M. ( Len ) Baca Sr., 53, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 27, 2004 with his loving family by his side. Len is the beloved husband to Mary R. Baca, married for 34 years. He is also survived by two children, Leonard M. Baca Jr. and fiancee, Trish Mascarenas, Leann Chavez and husband, Keith; his loving mother, Mrs. Josie Baca; three grandchildren, Makkayla Baca, Matthew Baca-Chavez, and Tyler Carian; four brothers, Barney Baca, Johnny Baca and wife, Geraldine, Jody Baca and wife, Leticia, Steve Baca and wife, Debbie; mother- and father-in-law, Victor and Edwina Moya; in-laws, Joe and Cathie Moya, Eloy and Isabel Trujillo, Ray and Tina Moya, Carlos and Anita Moya, Roberta Zubia; several aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. Len was preceded in death by his father, John Baca. Len was a member of the Catholic Church; he built a successful business, MRB Industrial Equipment from the ground up, but the single most important part of his life has always been his family. They were his whole reason for being. Even while battling his illness, he never missed an opportunity to lend a helping hand. Len always had time to laugh and share a joke and always had time to listen. He will always be the strength within our reach. He was our sunshine. Our days now will be a lot less sunny without him. A final visitation will be Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church with a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father Frank Prieto. Honorary pallbearers will be his many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New Mexico Cancer Foundation, 4901 Lang Ave. NE Albuq., N.M. 87109.
