John Bruce (Jack) Pettigrew Sr., 79, a resident of Corrales since 1987, died Friday, August 27, 2004. A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Alyce Jean Pettigrew of Corrales; three daughters, Maribeth Volek and husband, Thom of Albuquerque, Linda Bodick of Kalispell, MT, and Ann P. Brockwell and husband, Tom of Poplar Grove, IL; two sons, John B. Pettigrew Jr. of Bigfork, MT and Robert G. Pettigrew and wife, Sharon of Murrieta, CA; grandchildren, Ryan, Jonathan, and Zachary Volek, Stephen and Patrick Bodick, Dennis and Lindsey Pettigrew, and Marissa Brockwell; and great-granddaughter, Taylor Anne Volek. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis. Mr. Pettigrew was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy and continued to be active with the Special Augmented Hospital Unit #8, after being discharged. He attended St. Mary's College in Winona, MN and also Michigan State University. Mr. Pettigrew retired in 1987 from Dean Foods, after 41 years of service. He was a very active member of San Ysidro Catholic Church and was also active with the Arabian Horse industry. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Westside Chapel, Monday, August 30, 2004, from 4:00 p.m. until time of Rosary. Rosary will be recited Monday, August 30, 2004, at 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 31, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., at San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales, with Father Clarence Galli, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan, Jon and Zach Volek, Dennis Pettigrew, Stephen and Patrick Bodick.
