Jason Michael Wachocki October 17, 1981 to August 21, 2004 Jason Michael Wachocki's life was cut short at age 22 in a tragic car accident on August 21, 2004. Born in New Iberia, LA on October 17, 1981, Jason spent much of his childhood in Russell, KS. He moved to Albuquerque with his family in 1998. He graduated from Cibola High School in 2000. He was a young and vibrant man who was just beginning his journey in life. Jason was active in both ballooning and racing. He was a dedicated member of the Creamland Dairy's "MOO CREW." He began as a volunteer with the Sandia Motor Speedway's Fire and Rescue crew and continued there as an employee until his death. As with all things, Jason did these activities with compassion, dedication, enthusiasm, and genuine good humor. He touched many people in his short life. He is survived by his parents, Mike and Tia Wachocki; his brother, Bill Wachocki; his grandparents, Bill and Lois Lockyer, and Eugenia Wachocki, all of Albuquerque. Also surviving Jason are his uncle, Tim Lockyer and wife, Marlene and their three children, Megan, Jacob, and Robert of Alvarado TX; uncle, Terry Lockyer and three sons, Daniel, and Steven, all of Albuquerque and Benjamin and wife, Bridgette, stationed in Germany; uncle, Tom Lockyer and wife, Shirley; aunt, Tracy Lockyer of Albuquerque and children, Michael of St. Louis, MO, and Natalie of Woodward, OK; uncle, Phillip Wachocki of West Palm Beach FL; aunt, Cathy Smith and husband, Jay with their three children, BJ, Christy, and Becky, of Mesa, AZ; aunt, Susi Dillon and husband, Joe of Jemez Springs; and an innumerable number of other Family and Friends that made up his extended Family. Jason will be terribly missed. Services will be held Monday, August 30, 2004 at Sandia Motor Speedway, 100 Speed Way Blvd., SW at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jason Wachocki Memorial Fund at First State Bank of Albuquerque in NM, 505-241-7500.
