Obituary for TAYLOR

Garland D. Taylor, 74, born in Olney, TX, on Saturday, October 26, 1929, died on Monday, August 16, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Nell Taylor; three daughters, Michelle Morrow, Kim Graham, and Tammy Rogers; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Nan Craig of Hobbs, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. Garland served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a past President of the New Mexico Bankers Association during his career in banking. He was active in many civic organizations including Lions Club, Rotary, and was a member of the Gideon Organization. While in Grants, NM Garland was an avid supporter of 4H and FFA Programs through the purchase of livestock through fair sales. Mr. Taylor was a deacon, choir member, and beloved Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church in Albuquerque. Garland was a genuine believer, and a witness for Our Lord. He will be missed and never forgotten by his family and friends. Services will be held on Friday, August 20, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Central and Broadway.
