Obituary for MONTOYA

Alexander A. Montoya, age 69, was born February 2, 1935 in Mills, NM. He passed away August 10, 2004. Alexander was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin. He was a Korean War Veteran, proudly serving his country in the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army. Alexander was preceded in death by his mother, Angelina Montoya; his father, Melaqias Montoya; and his infant son, Marc Montoya. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Maria Rebecca Montoya; his two sons, Albert Montoya and Mark Montoya and fiancee, Angie Bowen; his daughter, Serena Montoya and her fiancee, Justin Grant; his grandson, Markus Montoya; his sister; four brothers; and numerous other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2004. Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 13, 2004. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association of New Mexico in the name of Alexander Montoya, 2625 Pennsylvania NE.
