Obituary for YASKO

Nancy Jean Yasko, S.F.O., 72, a resident of New Mexico since 1977, and coming to New Mexico from New York, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2004. Nancy was born May 10, 1932, the daughter of William and Amy Cornell Townsend in New York City, NY. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church; she was a lay associate of the Felician Sisters of Assumption Province in Rio Rancho; she was also a member of the St.Felix of Cantalice Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Yasko in 1978; and one brother-in-law, John Yasko. She is survived by three children, Maryann Ford and husband, Von of Cedar Crest, NM, Michael J. Yasko and wife, Nancy of Albuquerque, and Catherine Armendariz of Wrangell, Alaska; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, August 10, 2004 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd.at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. this evening, Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. in Rio Rancho. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be Michael Yasko, Victor Gabaldon, Von Ford, and Robert Gabaldon. It has been suggested that memorial contributions be made in Nancy's name to the Felician Sisters of Assumption Province, 4210 Meadowlark Ln., SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
