Laura Mae (nee Bryan) Bassett passed away on Sunday August 8, 2004, peacefully at home in Alpine TX, surrounded by her loving family in her 75th year. Cherished wife and best friend of Gordon for 54 years. Much loved Mother and Mother-in-law of Lecil and Annette (Huntsville, AR); Alton and Elizabeth (New Zealand); Troy (Alpine, TX); and Gayle and Rayshel (Amarillo, TX). Adored Grandma of Desri; Melissa and Nick, Janelle, Andrea; Tyler, Brett; Linneya, Miranda, Rebecca, and Breanna. A memorial service for Laura was held at Kokernot Lodge, Loop Rd. Alpine TX on Monday, Aug 9, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. A full funeral service will be held in the Canyon Cole Community Center at 300 16th Street Canyon TX, on Thursday Aug 12, 2004 at 3:00 p.m., followed by burial in the Dreamland Cemetery, 2 miles South of Canyon.
