Emily C. Lucero, a resident of Albuquerque for 6 years, died Thursday, August 5, 2004. She is survived by her daughters, Arlene Smith and husband, Bob of Helena, MT and Evenly Lopez of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Robert Smith, Barbara Schultz, Fred Lopez, Bernadette Houghton, Diana Shapiro and Mike Lopez; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandsons and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Lucero was born and lived most of her life in Santa Fe. Her home was open to everyone and she was known for her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Mrs. Lucero raised her family and helped in the upbringing of many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Fred Lucero. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, August 10, 2004, 6:00 pm, at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE with Deacon Kenn Sinatra reciting. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 11, 2004, 10:00 am at St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe, NM with Msgr. Leo Lucero, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe.
