Juan Torres, born August 25, 1923 in Los Angeles, California, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 . He was a resident of Albuquerque for 57 years, a parishoner of St. Francis Xavier Church, a union member and a WWII veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eloida Torres; daughters, Marina Duran and husband, Paul, Estella Sanchez, Annabel Romero and husband, John; sons, Henry Torres and wife, Cynthia, Robert Torres and Liz Martinez. He had ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Rosary will be held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St NW. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2004 at St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow burial at St. Francis Xavier Hall.
