Obituary for GILES

Ella C. Giles, 100, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004. She is survived by her sons, Jerome L. Giles and wife, Betty and John H. Giles and wife, Sandra, all of Albuquerque, and Donald L. Giles and wife, Bonnie of Estancia; four grandsons; one granddaughter; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Giles in 1982. Ella was born June 6, 1904 in Bonham, TX. She was the first child of Oris M. and Inus Norris. Inus passed away when Ella was 14 years old, and she quit school to help with the younger children and went to work in the Denison, TX cotton mill. Ella met Jesse L. Giles in Denison, and they were married October 5, 1929. Jesse retired from the wholesale grocery business. Jesse passed away in 1982, and Ella moved to Las Colinas Village Senior Center in 1988. Graveside services will be held Monday, August 2, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at Fairview Cemetery in Denison, TX.
