Obituary for HAWKINS

James Lyndon Hawkins, 69, passed away on July 10, 2004 following a long illness. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Hawkins. Jim is survived by his grandchildren, Cheri L. and Christopher N. Otto; stepdaughter, Dianne S. Otto and husband, James, all of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his sister, Joan K. Stuefen and husband, John of New Hope, MN, as well as nephew, Michael Stuefen, of Minneapolis, MN; nieces, Kathy Stuefen, Anoka, MN, Susan Stuefen, Minneapolis, MN and Carrie Bates, Champlin, MN; as well as several grand-nieces and -nephews. Jim was born on March 11, 1935, to Lyndon and Hilda Hawkins in Monticello, Minnesota. After serving 4 years in the U.S. Air Force he pursued a career in computer programming from which he retired in 1986. He married his wife Marilyn on June 9, 1973 and they moved to Albuquerque in August 1986 to be near family. Prior to his illness, he was very active in the congregation of Shepherd Lutheran Church.
