Obituary for GENTZSCH

Reinhard Ludwig Max Gentzsch, 96, a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1990, died at his residence (LaVita Llena, 10501 LaGrima De Oro Road, NE), Tuesday evening, about 9:30 p.m. from natural causes. Born in Hamburg, Germany, he was the son of the late; Max and Bertha (Peter) Gentzsch. He was the widower of Beatrice (Hunicker) Gentzsch, who died in Pennsylvania on February 14, 1953; and Grace (Fleming) Gentzsch, who died in Albuquerque on January 4, 1997. He is survived by nephews, Joachim Gentzsch, San Sebastian, de los Reyes, Spain, Enrique Gentzsch of Minneapolis, MN, and George Gentzsch of Staten Island, NY; a niece, Antje Friedrichs Waldesch Reinhard of Wadwaldesch, Germany. After completing high school in Germany, he became a machinist, working for over 30 years at the former Textile Machine Works in Wyomissing, PA, until his retirement in 1959. He owned and operated a plantation in Puerto Rico from 1971 where he raised and exported coffee, citrus fruits, and bananas until the 1980s. Private graveside services will be held in the Host Church Cemetery in Tulpehocken Twpl, Berks Co., PA. Hetrick Funeral Home in Womelsdorf, PA is in charge of arrangements.
