Vera Cushman, 59, resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2004. She was born in Baxter, Arkansas on July 28, 1944. She is survived by her son, Chris Cushman and wife, Vanissa of Albuquerque; sisters, Frances F. McCullough and husband, Leo, of Fairfield, CA, Dorothy J. Bailey and husband, George, of Mer Rouge, LA, Omega Lawson of Oakland, CA, Mary Henderson and husband, Glen of Vallejo, CA, Jeanie Nelson of Seattle, WA, Emma Brandon, Melvina James, and Doris Murphy and husband, Rev. Lester, all of Bastrop, LA; brother, John Ford, Jr. and wife, Amelia of Carson, CA; one goddaughter, Mercedes Cawley-Whiddon; local nephew, Demetrius Brandon; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Wake will be held on Friday, July 9, 2004 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Chapel of Sunrise, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at New Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1901 Pennsylvania NE, with Reverend Lloyd Wheeler and Minister John McGee officiating.
