Obituary for LUCERO

Fred Lucero, 92, a resident of Albuquerque for five years and a longtime resident of Santa Fe, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Emily Casados Lucero of Santa Fe; daughters, Arlene Smith and husband, Bob of Helena, MT, and Evelyn Lopez of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Robert Smith, Barbara Schultz, Fred Lopez, Bernadette Houghton, Diana Shapiro, and Mike Lopez; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Gomez and Delia Sedillo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Fred was born in Los Luceros, and he lived in Santa Fe most of his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and dedicated his life to being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, June 27, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 28, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Cathedral, 131 Cathedral St, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Burial will follow at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe. Friends may visit French Mortuary Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until time of Rosary. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
