Helen Veronica Battey, 96, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2004 at Lovelace Sandia Hospice. She was born on November 1, 1907 on Governors Island, New York City to James and Ellen Bulger. A resident of Albuquerque since 1970, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Orlando, in 1977. She is survived by her son, James Battey, and wife, Katherine. A private service will be held at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Program for the All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly-PACE.
