Lloyd L. Burris, 1st Sergeant, (Ret.), U.S. Army, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, June 6, 2004. Lloyd was born Friday, August 31, 1928 in Queen City, Texas. He served in Korea and Vietnam and served in the Army for 26 years. Lloyd was an avid volunteer with the Republican Party and numerous military affiliations. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Burris; son, John M. Burris of Phoeniz, AZ; one brother, John Roy Burris; two sisters, Virginia Pelot and husband, Dave and Mary Lou McKeever and husband, Mike all of Portland, OR; and various other family members outside the state of New Mexico. Services will be held on Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Paul Cassidy, Maty Garcia, David Garcia, Steven Garcia, Vincent Rivera, Tristan DeSantis and Wes Provoost.
