Obituary for VIGIL

Myra Vigil, age 42, formerly a resident of Belen and Albuquerque and now a resident of Los Lunas, peacefully joined our Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, June 3, 2004. She was a member of the St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Albuquerque. Even though Myra suffered from Cerebral Palsy all her life she was very bright and attended school, graduating from Manzano High School. She never let her illness hold her back and Myra was one to try almost anything, even getting a tattoo on her left calf. She loved going to Isleta Casino whenever she could. She loved the outdoors and fishing with family and friends. After high school she went to work with Adelante where she worked in nursing homes throughout Albuquerque. Myra was well known at Winrock Shopping Center where she was all over the mall making food deliveries to all the shops. She was also a member of A.R.C.A. for many years. Myra is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Seferino and Manuelita Sanchez; paternal grandparents, Felipe and Anita Vigil. She is survived by her loving parents, Eloisa Vigil of Los Lunas and Joe Vigil and his wife, Dorothy of Albuquerque; six siblings, Joseph Vigil, Anna and her husband, Salo Garcia all of Belen, Phillip Vigil and his wife, Kathy of Los Lunas, Alvin Vigil and his wife, Sylvia, Virgil Vigil, and Daniel Vigil all of Albuquerque; her loving caregiver and friend, Wanda McKay of Los Lunas. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. Services will be held on Friday, June 4, 2004 beginning with a public viewing at 5:30 p.m. and a rosary at 6:00 p.m. both at Romero Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her five brothers and her loving brother-in-law, Salo Garcia. Romero Funeral Home 609 N. Main St. Belen.
