Obituary for TENNYSON

Leslie W. Tennyson, Sr., 84, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 13 years and also resided in Santa Fe for many years. Went to be with Our Lord on Thursday, May 27, 2004 after a long illness. Leslie was born February 9, 1920 the son of Charles Elmer and Nancy McPherson Tennyson in Kiefer, Oklahoma. He gallantly served in the US Air Force during WW II and was a prisoner of War, captured in the Phillipines and bravely survived the Bataan Death March. He was a member of the D.A.V., Bataan Veterans Organization, and American Ex Prisoners of War. He was preceded in death by one son, Leslie W. Tennyson, Jr. Leslie is survived by his loving wife, Lillian Koury Tennyson of Rio Rancho/Santa Fe; children, Cecilia Hanrahan and husband Bill of Santa Fe, Kenny Tennyson and wife Bernadette of Santa Fe, Carol Martinez and husband Ed of Morarity; brother, Harold Tennyson and wife Marge; two sisters, Virginia Jaramillo and Elma White; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Waddel and Annabelle Koury; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 30, 2004 in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, May 31, 2004 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Rio Rancho. Interment will be in the National Cemetery at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 1, 2004. Pallbearers will be Larry Waterman, Jason Waterman, Paul Tennyson, Miguel Martinez, John Tennyson, and John Koury. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kimberly Lujan, Leslie Lujan, Shyla Chavez, Chandra Orona, Sarah Reno, Jimmy Koury, and Dale Koury.
