Obituary for HORTON

Tom Horton, 93, a resident of Albuquerque for 17 years, died Sunday, May 23, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Horton of Albuquerque; daughters, Valerie Rupp and husband, Mike, of Glendale, AZ, Kathleen Rizzuto and husband, Bill, of San Francisco, CA and Karen West and husband, Chris, of Albuquerque; sons, Mark Parkinson and wife, Stacy, of Olatha, KS and Eric Parkinson and wife, Vivian, of Fayetteville, AR; grandchildren, Ashley, Erica, Alex, Sam, Kit, Lindsay, Avery and Ryan and sister, Virginia Horton of Newtown, PA. Tom moved to Albuquerque in 1987 after retiring from The Wichita Eagle-Beacon as an newspaper Editor. He served under Gen. Douglas McArthur in WWII. Tom enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid walker. But mostly he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2004, 10:00 a.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE with Father Richard Olona officiating. Ennichment of cremated remains will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul through Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
