Obituary for SAIS

Ida Sais, 82, a resident of Belen, peacefully joined Our Lord and Savior, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Belen, on Wednesday, May, 19, 2004. Ida was born August 12, 1921 to Cruz and Eva Perez in Marfa, TX. In 1941 Ida met her future husband who was stationed at Fort Rustle, TX. On April 5, 1942, Ida and Ernesto Sais married in Marfa, TX. After Ernesto returned from WWII they moved to Belen for a short period of time, then moved to Hurlong, CA. They returned to Belen in 1951. Ida and Ernesto were members of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church since 1951. Ida worked for 12 years as an office nurse for the late Dr. Radcliffe, then for the Belen Consolidated Schools as a nurse's aide and secretary. Ida was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Ida is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernesto Sais; her first born son, Ernie Sais and her parents Cruz and Eva Perez. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Sais and his wife, Lorraine of Monrovia, CA; her daughters, Melinda and her husband, Terry Casto of Indialantic, FL; and Theresa and her husband, Robert "Bobby" McDougal of Belen; her sister, Elvira Rodriguez and brother, Elizandro Perez and his wife, Jessie; ten grandchildren, Diane Sheehy, Alison Mostert, Dante Sais, John Sais, Regina Blasberg, Garrett and Travis Casto, Cindy May, Melissa Plese, and Kyle McDougal. Seven great grandchildren Gabriella and Jenna Sheehy, Elayna Mostert, Regina Sais, Abby Blasberg, Breece and Caden May. A public viewing will be at held 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2004, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
