Sister Mary Rosamund Bashinski, CSSF, October 14, 1914 - May 17, 2004. Sister Mary Rosamund Bashinski, a Felician Sister of Rio Rancho, passed away at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Provincial House on Monday, May 17, 2004. Named Teresa at Baptism, she was the only daughter of Lawrence and Anastasia (Kubiak) Bashinski. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Clem and Raymond. Her surviving brothers are Ted and Albert. In July of 1935 she entered the Felician Sisters convent in Chicago, IL. In 1937 she began her ministry as a Felicia Sister which took her from Illinois to Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, Alabama, California and Oklahoma in twenty-two assigned areas of these states. Sisters' primary ministry was education in kindergarten, first and second grades. A fun loving person, her classroom was always a joyful home away from home for the children she taught. Sister always had the missions at heart and worked to raise money to support those in need, no matter where they were to be found. When asigned to the provincial house in Rio Rancho, in 1997, she continued to support the work of the Felician Sisters' Mission in Mexico. A deeply prayerful, kind and jovial person, she spent her final years helping others whenever and wherever she could. Rosary services will be held at the provincial house chapel at 4210 Meadowlark Ln., SE, Rio Rancho, on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 7:00 PM. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the same location. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
