Obituary for MOCK

Joe E. Mock, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1941, died Thursday, May 13, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carole Mock; son, Don Mock and wife, Jan; daughter, Teri Henderson and husband, Chris, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jason Mock and wife, Dawn, Cody Mock and wife, Justine, and Jeremy Henderson; great-grandchildren, Devvon, Justen, Jorden, and Desiree Mock; sister, Shirley Mock and Fiance, Bob Gregory; brother, Howard Mock and wife, Judy, both of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ola Mae Mock, and brother, Robert Henry Mock. Joe graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1948, and attended the University of New Mexico. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Joe was a prominent homebuilder in both New Mexico and Wyoming, serving as President of the Wyoming Homebuilders Association, a director with the National Homebuilders Association, and as a board member with the Home Builders Association of Central New Mexico. He was inducted into the Home Builders Association Hall of Fame and was a feature builder for the Home Builders Association of Central New Mexico in 1997. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, attaining the position of 32 degree Mason. He was also a member of the Shrine Club and a life member of the Elks Club. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Sandia Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dewey Johnson officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jason Mock, Cody Mock, Jeremy Henderson, Doug Clark, Dick Rice, and Mel Ottley.
