Obituary for FURRY

Betty Ann Furry, beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2004,on her 76th birthday. An Albuquerque native, she loved to fly, obtaining a private pilots license from Cutter Carr in the 1950's. She spent 35 years working at the University of New Mexico in the Comptrollers office on Main Campus and the Medical School. Betty was very active in the community and church activities. She was a past president of the Junior Women's Club, a Town Club alum and served on many different committees at St. Luke's Lutheran, also teaching many years of Sunday School. She is survived by her son, David Furry; daughter, Carolyn Kirby; sister, Rosalie Knudson Remillard; sister-in-law, Eula Remillard; brother-in-law, Robert Furry and wife, Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends. She now has joyfully joined her husband, William (Bill) Furry. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 9100 Menaul Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 8100 Mountain Road NE, Suite 102, 87110, or St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
