Eva Mae Sturges. How hard it is to sum up Eva Mae's 91 years in this small space. She was born in Grayson Co. Texas, but moved to the Estancia Valley when she was 10 months old with her family Edward and Mary Ellen Estes and lived in the valley all but the last 9 years of her life. Eva was preceded in death by her husband R. Frank Sturges, her son, Frank L. and daughter Elaine. Eva will be greatly missed by her daughter Claudie and her husband Norman Cacy, with whom she has been living for the last 9 years, and by her grandchildren, Norm Cacy and wife Kristi, Connie Shultz and husband Ben, Frank Cacy and wife Sharon; her great grand children, Briawna, Jessica, Cacy, Sheena, Kodi, and Kirsten; her sister Alleena Brown and her husband Ernest; her sisters-in-Iaw, Alma Daniels and Mary Gene Brooks and brother-in-law Bozo Sturges; also many nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place and she will be interred at the Estancia Cemetery with only her family in attendance, as per her request. Should anyone wish to make a contribution in her memory, please make them to the Estancia Order of the Eastern Star# 23, P.O. Box 853, Estancia N.M. Eva Mae was a faithful member for more than 50 years and loved all her sisters and brothers there in. "She loved and held on to the same spirit as her late husband Frank."
