Ofelia. Mrs. Ofelia Maestas, 88, a resident of Los Lunas passed away on May 1, 2004. Mrs. Maestas is survived by her seven children, Alex Maestas, Erminda Bustos, Dolores Sena, Joe Maestas and wife, Nora, Barbara Trujillo, Alice Marshall, and Larry Maestas; one sister, Eloisa Maestas; two brothers, Fred Fernandez and wife, Frances, and Steve Fernandez and wife, Elsie; one daughter in law, Mary Maestas-Torres; one brother in law, Dan Tafoya; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Maestas was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Isias Maestas; two brothers, Tony Fernandez, and Bonifacio Fernandez; one sister, Miquelita Tafoya; and one son, Lauriano Maestas. A visitation for Mrs. Maestas will be Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30pm. A second Rosary and the Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Springer, NM, times to be announced. Interment will follow at Palo Blanco Cemetery in Chico, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Victor Bustos, Derrick Bustos, Neil Marshall, Patrick Sena, Kenneth Trujillo, Greg Trujillo, Linda Sedillo, Barbara Jarosick, Tara Bustos, and Tammy Wright.
