Dorothy Landess Harland (Dottie), 52, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2004 following an extended illness. Dottie died at home surrounded by family and lots of love. Dottie was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Ruth and Gene Landess. She is survived by her daughter, Mica Russell and husband, Curt; and grandsons, Tanner and C.J. She is also survived by her sister, Nelda Smith and husband, Don; brother, David Landess and wife, Paula; sister, Darlene Gonzalez and husband, Frankie; brothers, John Landess and wife, Kim, Mike Landess and wife, Karen; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dottie leaves a great empty space in the lives of her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calvary of Albuquerque Cancer Support Ministry. Visitation will be Sunday, May 2, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, 842-8800. Services will be held Monday, May 3, 2004, 11:00 a.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary and with the burial at Sandia Memorial Gardens.
