Richard Platero, a lifetime resident of Canoncito, born April 4, 1902, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Laguna Rainbow Nursing Home. He joins his spouse, Rachael Platero; daughters and son, Ida Johnson,Penny and Chester Platero ; four grandchildren, Pearl and Devonna Platero, Darlene Johnson and Herman Sandoval. He leaves behind his sons and daughter, Joe Sandoval, John Johnson, Patricia Platero Boeckner, Roy Platero and Robert (Bobby) Platero. He also leaves behind his grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Platero will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pentecostal Church of Canoncito. Burial will follow at Word of Life Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Boeckner, Kevin Johnson, Michael Johnson, Richard Johnson, Abie Johnson, Johnny Johnson, William Platero, Tim Johnson and Christopher Spencer.
