Obituary for LUNDY

James Ira Lundy, age 76, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at his home in St. George, Utah. He was born February 5, 1928, in Weatherford, Oklahoma, to Horace Ross Lundy and Sadie Ethel Dibler. On April 3, 1948, he married Rilla Mae Tedford in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He became a journeyman Electrician in Albuquerque, later, in 1969 moving to Delta, CO, where he owned his own Electrical Contracting business for 10 years and retired in 1985. James and Rilla enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. They went to Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, and Alaska twice. They moved to St. George in 2002, where they enjoyed the warm winters. He was a faithful, zealous, dedicated baptized, Jehovah's Witness since 1965. He was a dedicated husband, father, and friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed hearing and telling good jokes and stories. His sense of humor was enjoyed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife, Rilla; and four sons and three daughters, Gloria, (Wayne) Proctor, James, (Mary) Lundy, Pamela, (Ronald) Wingfield, Rhonda Lundy, Dan (Tina) Lundy, Paul, (Lisa) Lundy, Eric, (Loida) Lundy; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and brother, Keith; sisters, MaryLou, Ardith Ann, Irma Mae. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Harold Dean. The family would like to thank Dr. Barney, Dr. Boorman, Dr. Price and the staff at Dixie Regional Medical Center for the compassion and kindness shown to him and his family during his illness. Memorial services were held Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at 5:30 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 626 S. 1100 E., St George, Utah. Arrangements under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary.
