Cresenciano "Chris" Griego Jr. died Wednesday, March 31, 2004 in Albuquerque at the age of 56. Mr. Griego was a member of the U.S. Marines and served in during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star for combat bravery. He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Anaya; ex-wife, Rita Griego; sons, Donnie Mares, Christopher Griego and wife, Joann, and Dominic Griego; brothers, Mac, Elias, Toby and Ralph; sisters, Dorothy and Barbara; and eight grandchildren. A Rosary for Mr. Griego will be recited on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Funeral Services for Mr. Griego will be held on Saturday at St. Anne's Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Carnuel Cemetery.
