Obituary for ADKINS

Edwin "Ed" Dale Adkins, 62, a resident of New Mexico for the past 13 years passed away on Friday, March 26, 2004. Ed was born May 13, 1941 the son of Howard Charles and Ina Mae Lawrie Adkins in St. Joseph, Missouri. He had been in Route Sales for a commercial vending company. He came to New Mexico from St. Joseph, Missouri. Ed was preceded in death by one daughter, Nicole LeAnn; and one granddaughter, Karlee. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Marilyn of Rio Rancho; four children, Angie Adkins-Embrey and husband, George of Springfield, IL, Kamela Mergler and husband, David of Rio Rancho, Christopher Meador and wife, Sherrye of Holt, MO, and Tracie Sharp and husband, Rick of Wathena, KS; eight grandchildren, Aron Sharp, Taylor Meador, Max Adkins-Embrey, Byron Meador, Kayda Mergler, Brannon Meador, Canon Sharp, and Mason Meador; one sister, Barbara Owens; and one brother, Darryl Adkins; numerous nieces, nephews, and his many dear friends. A special thanks to the staff of the Heart Hospital of New Mexico for their care and compassion in helping our family. The Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. with the Service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Adkins, Darryl Adkins, Joseph Mergler, Gere Borman, Maurice Just, and Michael Coyne. It has been suggested that Memorial Contributions be made to New Mexico Donor Services, 2715 Broadbent Pkwy. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
