Obituary for JUHASZ

Fredericka "Freddie" (Schleifer) Weber Juhasz, born on September 29, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri to father Gail Schleifer and mother Grace Choate Schleifer, died on March 24, 2004 in Albuquerque due to complications to otherwise successful cancer treatment. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister Rosemary Montgomery. She is survived by her devoted husband of 21 years, John Juhasz, and her former husband of 23 years, Robert C. Weber; their children, Robin Chall and husband, Robert, Matthew Weber, Michael Weber and wife, Kathy, and Robert C. Weber Jr. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Gail Schleifer of Albuquerque and Carol Wehrs of Houston, and by sister-in-law, Ruth Helen Simms and husband, Charles of Albuquerque. In addition, she is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Cindy Silva and husband, Ben, Charles Weber, Chris Chall and wife, Stephanie, Melissa Weber, and Paul Weber. Her precious Great Granddaughter, Jessica Chall also survives her. She left behind many nephews and nieces, Mark Montgomery of Bakersfield, Joan Montgomery of Los Angeles, Kathy Pattinos and husband, Matt, Nicky Pattinos of Houston, Tom Simms of Taos, Steve Simms and wife, Gail, John Simms and wife, Alice, and Mary Ellen Slemp and husband, Larry of Albuquerque. Freddie met her husband John at the First Presbyterian Church singles ministry, where he served as Deacon assigned to help the singles ministry. They have enjoyed a fun-filled 21 years together of traveling and enjoying the company of family and friends. She retired from Sandia National Labs after a proud 24 year career, last serving as a Management Aid II in the library and art department. She held her colleagues at Sandia in high esteem. She enjoyed working on United Way campaigns, volunteered with the Sandia Thunderbirds, and remembered good times at the Coronado Club. She highly valued skill improvement and higher education and pursued additional college education in pursuit of her certified professional secretary designation. She attended Kansas City Junior College, the University of Albuquerque, and the University of New Mexico. She was also a lifetime Beta Sigma Phi member, currently in Preceptor Beta Beta Chapter and enjoyed sorority activities and the outstanding women in her chapter. Their sisterhood helped her through the challenges encountered in the past year. Thanks for all the flowers, cards, telephone calls, hospital visits and especially your prayers. The family also wishes to thank Dr.Van Dyke, Dr. Montoya, Dr. Jensen, the Kaseman-SNF nursing staff, the Kaseman-Hospice nursing staff and the Presbyterian ICU-South nursing staff, especially Ruth, Tammy and Linda, and the Los Palomas Nursing and Rehab Center nursing staff, especially Betty Wainwright and Carolyn Manuelito. Thank you for your kindness and the compassionate care given to Freddie. Memorial Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Chapel of Sunrise.
