Douglas J. McGowen, AFOTEC Deputy Technical Director in Albuquerque and longtime Texas resident, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at the young age of 55. Doug was a loving and devoted husband and father, and the family takes comfort in knowing that he will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. He is survived by Harper Sue McGowen, his wife of 23 years; and two children, Bret, 22, a computer engineering student at Texas A & M, and Kaley, 17, a Junior at La Cueva High School; His father Leonard K. McGowen, 91, of Arlington, Texas; his brothers, Mac McGowen, his wife, Peggy, and their three children, Bernard McGowen, his wife, Lorna, and their two daughters, Gregory McGowen and his wife, Melinda; Kenneth McGowen, his wife Jane Ann, and their two sons; and his sister, Lavern McGowen, all of the Arlington and Fort Worth area. A service in memory of Doug will be held Friday, March 19, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Hoffmantown Church. The Funeral will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas on Monday, March 22, 2004 at 2:00 p.m.
