Obituary for WISE

Jack D. Wise went home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2004 at the Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida. In his earlier years, Jack earned a football scholarship to University of South Carolina, then joined the Navy and cooked for the Naval Officers. After his service he began his career as a butcher for various grocery chains and retired from Furr's in Albuquerque. Jack was an avid hunter, fisherman and cook. He began organic gardening, joined the South Valley Growers Assn. and was a member of the Board of Directors. He was also an active member of Heritage Christian Fellowship. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Frances Marie; daughter, Renee Downing of South Carolina; sisters, Joyce Bachman and Margaret Dillahay of South Carolina, Norma Marsh of Florida and Mary Moore Whiteley of California; four grandchildren in South Carolina and one in Mississippi, two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jimmie Fern Fraser. A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage Christian Fellowship, 11104 Menaul Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87112, March 11, 2004, 11:00 a.m., Pastor Tim Maxwell will be officiating. Donations may be made to Cancer Research, in lieu of flowers. Interment will take place at Vista Verde Memorial Park.
