Obituary for WARREN

Diane Warren, 61, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Thursday, February 26, 2004 at her daughter's home in Sandia Park, NM after a valiant two-year battle with cancer. Diane was a lifelong resident of El Paso who had recently relocated to Albuquerque. She held a BA in Education and MA degrees in Professional Writing/ Rhetoric and Education Administration. She had 27 combined years of teaching experience at schools including El Paso Community College and UTEP. She was also a Language Arts Facilitator for EPISD and a Language Arts Consultant for HR&W Publishers. She most recently served as Assistant Principal at Hornedo Middle School. Diane is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Fowler (husband, Mark); and her two grandchildren, Hayley and Christian Fowler of Sandia Park. Other survivors include her uncle, Vincent Long (wife, Pearl) of El Paso; and four cousins, Deborah and Mike Long of El Paso, Craig Long (wife, Dottie) of Houston, TX and Carolyn Armstrong (husband, Tom) of Las Vegas, NV. Because Diane had a special love for youth. Her family requests donations in lieu of flowers, to Set Free Urban Ministry Center, 1 Victory Lane, Sterrett, AL. 35147 ("Enhancing the Lives of Inner-City Kids"-Birmingham, AL). Memorial service: Saturday, March 13, 2004, 10:00 a.m. at Harvest Christian Center, 785 Southwestern Dr., El Paso, TX. (Rev. Charlie and Durinda Warren officiating). "He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him" (1 Thess. 5:10).
