Larry R. 1940 - 2004 Larry R. Knodel, age 64, a resident of Los Lunas passed away in an Albuquerque hospital on Friday, March 5, 2004. He was a strong believing Christian. Larry retired from the trucking industry after 42 years of service. He belonged to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and fishing and he never missed an opportunity to be in the mountains with his family. He was a true animal lover who never could say no to a stray. His family was his life and he worked hard to see that they were always happy. Thanksgiving and Christmas were very special to Larry and he made sure that all of his family and friends would gather together when they could. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Shirley of the family home in Los Lunas; three children, Ashley Guy Word, and Tandra R. Rodgers of Colorado, and Leslie R. Knodel of New Mexico; one grandson, Brad Smith and one granddaughter, Sandra Elaine Smith both of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by two close friends that he considered his brother and sister, Teddy and Isabel Martinez and their family of Bosque Farms, New Mexico. All services will be held at Romero Funeral Home beginning with a visitation on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. With love and respect for Larry's wishes, cremation will then take place.
