Obituary for CASTELLANO

Rosella (Rosie) Lujan Castellano. Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Rosie is reunited with her mother, father, grandparents and brother on March 1, 2004. Rosie was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Maria Archuleta and Jose G. Lujan on August 19, 1944. She was a 1963 graduate of Santa Fe High School. She married Richard Castellano on February 13, 1965. Rosie worked at various offices for the State of New Mexico and retired in 1998 from the New Mexico Public Schools Insurance Authority. After her retirement, she worked at Public Service Company of New Mexico, College of Santa Fe and Wells Fargo Bank. She was also a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Altar Society and a volunteer for the Santa Fe Senior Citizens Center in the Kitchen, Bingo and sewing classes. Her parents, Jose G. and Maria A. Lujan, her brother Tony Lujan and her grandparents preceded Rosie in death. She is survived by her children, Ruth Ann, Rick and Keith; son-in-law, Byron Piatt, treasured grandchildren Rochelle and Bryan Piatt; brothers Rudy and Juan; sisters, Viola Smith, Priscilla Serna, Christine Garcia and Nadine Day, sisters-in-law Fermie Lujan, Kristi Lujan, Tina Lujan, brothers-in-law, Robert Serna, Stephen Day and Pat Garcia as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. A viewing will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Monday, March 8, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. with a rosary following at 7:00 p.m. to be recited by the Our Lady of Guadalupe Alter Society. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Castellano, Stephen Day, Robert Serna, Patricio Garcia, Byron Piatt and Christopher Day. Interment services will be held at Rosario Cemetery. A reception will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Hall.
