Obituary for SHAVER

Robert L. Shaver, 75, a lifelong resident of the Albuquerque area, died Monday, March 1, 2004. He is survived by his son, Rick Shaver of Los Lunas; grandsons, Jeffrey L. Shaver and Jason A. Shaver, both of Los Lunas; sisters, Betty Landon of Albuquerque, Shirley Parsons of Ruidoso, NM and Ginnie Murphy of Rio Rancho, NM; brother, Bill Shaver of Chama, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ivy, in 1994; parents, Harris and Theresa Shaver; and one brother, Harris Shaver. Robert was born in Albuquerque on December 23, 1928 and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1950. He served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy. He married Ivy L. Roe on April 20, 1957. Robert worked at the Albuquerque Journal for several years as a stereotyper. They moved to Los Lunas in 1962 and resided there every since. He worked at the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School until he retired. Robert loved fishing, traveling and spending time with his grandsons. He was a beloved father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed. Services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2004, 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Cremation will follow services. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Wednesday, March 3, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
