Obituary for MATTINGLY

Rex M. Mattingly passed away on February 27, 2004. Mr. Mattingly lived in New Mexico for the majority of his life, but has lived in NC since 1985. He attended the Univ. of NM, and served as a lieutenant in the Army Air Force during WWII. He was a well-known businessman in Albuq., and was very active in NM state politics, serving as Chairman of the NM Republican Party during the mid to late 1960's. He served on the Fed. Renegotiation Board in Washington, D.C., 1969-77. He was loved by many, and will be missed by his wife of 62 years, Laura Mattingly, daughters Sharon Billings and Sally Abril, and son Lloyd Mattingly, all from NC. Eight grandchildren also survive Mr. Mattingly: Kenny Billlings and Christine Pasela; Mario and Andres Abril; Wyatt and Garrett Mattingly; as well as eight great grandchildren.
