Obituary for PIELHAU

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday February 27, 2004

Jared William Pielhau, died suddenly on Sunday, February 22, 2004. His passing will leave an incredible void in the lives of those who loved him, barely filled by the wonderful memories of his all too brief life. He was born April 3, 1985 and lived his entire life in Golden, New Mexico being the fourth generation in his family to do so. He graduated from Moriarty High School in 2003, was currently attending UNM and had recently chosen Landscape Architecture as his field of interest. He grew up working in the family trading post in Golden becoming very knowledgeable about Native American craft and sharing a special love of Navajo rugs with his grandfather. He enjoyed hiking in the mountains behind his home, skateboarding, hanging out with his friends, drawing, and was passionate about the 1967 Camaro he and his father restored together. He is survived by his father and mother, Allen and Desiri Pielhau, sister, Shanna Pielhau and her boyfriend, Paul Brownell, his maternal grandparents, Bill and Vera Henderson, paternal grandmother, Mildred Pielhau (he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Frank Pielhau), Great Uncle, Leroy Henderson, Aunt Johanna Brown and her husband, Shane, Uncle Frank Pielhau and his wife, Barbara and cousins, Frank, Kevin and Kimberly Pielhau. He is also survived by his best friends, Trevor Clancy, Chris Corelis and Ashton Downing, his girlfriend Jacquie Pierce, and many others who touched his young life including his high school art teacher, Mr. Musick. He will also be remembered by life long family friends, John and Karin Carr and son, Jed and wife, Amy, Wally and Donna McClellan and sons, Will and Dan, and Kris and Annette Stephens and children, Derek and Blakely. A special thanks to the caring staff at UNM Hospital, the many nameless people who were so supportive at the accident scene and all of the wonderful people who have since so generously shown their love and support. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2004, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. In lieu of flowers, if you so choose, contributions may be made in his honor to the Moriarty High School Art Department, P.O. Box 2000, Moriarty, NM 87035. Prayer of St. Francis Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy. Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; To be understood as to understand; To be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, In pardoning that we are pardoned, And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
