Obituary for GILES

Doris Lilian Giles, 60, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2004. Doris was born August 8, 1943 the daughter of Henry and Hilda Charlotte Brown McTighe in Queens, New York. She was married to Reginald F. Giles on August 14, 1965. She attended Bryant High School in Jackson Heights, NY. She was a Board member of Walking N Circles Horse Rescue; assistant Stable Master at Kirtland AFB. Doris worked for many years as a cosmetologist at J C Pennys and started at Campfire for Boys and Girls in 1989 and up until present day. Doris was well known in the area for her training abilities for the many horses rescued from and rehabilitated. Doris talked "Horse". She is survived by her husband, Reginald; children, Margaret L. Giese and husband Chris, and Reggie Giles; grandchildren, Emily, Logan, and Mary Giese of Rio Rancho; one sister, Sue McTighe; half brother, Richard Schmidt and wife joy of Pittsfield, MA; cousin Scott Brown and wife Debbie of Albuquerque. The Service for Doris will be held on Monday, February 23, 2004 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln, Rio Rancho. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that anyone wanting to make a donation in Doris' name to Walking N Circles New Mexico Horse Rescue, P.O. Box 626, Edgewood, NM 87015.
