Sidney J. Uhlfelder, 97, son of Sigmund and Eva Goldsmith Uhlfelder was born, Monday, August 27, 1906 in Roswell, NM and passed away Saturday, February 14, 2004, after living most of his life in Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Katie. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Elinor Martens and husband, James of Albuquerque; cousins, Arnold Rosenwald and wife, Jo of Davis, CA and Eva Layton of New South Wales, Australia; nephew, Bill Maxey and wife, Ruth; great-nephew, Bill Maxey and wife, Theresa and son, Ryan; niece, Sally Fitzgibbon and husband, Joe and their sons, Scott of Albuquerque and Jimmy Carruthers of Lewisville, TX. Also sharing our grief is Mr. Uhlfelder's close friend and caregiver, Anna Swanson of Albuquerque. Sidney was a loving and caring man, and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, 12:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating.
