Reba Kathleen Rowland, age 89, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, was called home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 12, 2004. Reba was born in Ava, MO on March 22, 1914. Her husband, M.P. (Pat) Rowland preceded her in death on March 5, 1987. She is survived by her daughter, Sharie and her husband, Tom Gramzow of Albuquerque; and her son, Michael and his wife, Lisa of Albuquerque, now carrying on the family business. She is also survived by her grandson, Tom Rowland and great-grandchildren, Emilee Kathleen and Averee T. Rowland of Sandpoint, ID; granddaughter, Erica Rowland and husband, Mike Erickson of Albuquerque, who joined the family business as 3rd generation; youngest granddaughter, Kenzie Rowland, attending college in Steamboat Springs, CO; her foster daughter, Nancy and her husband, Dick Hobson and granddaughter, Kim Hobson, all of Albuquerque; niece, Carole Jean and her husband, Don Deckard of Kansas City, MO; and numerous other family members. Many other friends will miss her deeply. Our love will always remain. Reba was CEO of Rowland Nursery and will be deeply missed. Enchanting New Mexico for 50 years. Her love for traveling took her coast to coast in her motor home. She loved to pass the big 18-wheelers and was forever wanting to stop and pick up every tree and flowers she saw to take home and make it grow. Private family services and interment have taken place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Please join us for sharing wonderful memories at a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 21, 2004, at 9:00 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 Alvarado Drive SE (256-5718), with Pastor Charles Treadwell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lovelace Sandia Hospice, 5403 Gibson Blvd. SE, Siesta Hills #1, 87108; to Alzheimer's Association of New Mexico, 8100 Mountain Rd. NE, Suite 102, 87110; or to your favorite charity or church. Marty, her devoted companion of 48+ years cared for Mom and Dad in the most loving dedicated way that one could hope for. Marty will deeply miss her as this loss leaves a void in her life. Our family thanks her from the bottom of our hearts for these many years of loving care. Her loving caregivers, Tillie, Victoria, Lillia, Gabriela and Anna made a huge difference in her quality of life. Victoria helped to ease and comfort Reba through these past weeks with her loving massages of soothing lavender. Gabriela was fondly known as Gabby to Mom. Anna always took Mom and puppy, Noel to church. She and Mom made all the flowers for the tables for Tom and Sharie's February 14, 2003, wedding celebration. Tillie traveled extensively with Reba, Tom and Sharie and proved to be Reba's guardian angel over the past three years. They all made a difference in her life. The family is grateful for all the love, support and prayers extended during this very difficult time. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
