Rose F. Montoya, 82, went home to be with the Lord on February 6, 2004. She was preceded in death her husband Cornelio Montoya; her two sons Donald and Raymond Montoya. She is survived by eight sons Tony Montoya and wife Cheryl, Leroy Montoya and wife Carol, Albert Montoya and wife Virginia, Robert Montoya and wife Stacy, Gilbert Montoya and wife Anna, Frank Montoya and wife Bernadette, Felix Montoya and wife Frances and Herman Montoya; three daughters Angie Romero and husband Eddie, Kathy Aragon and husband Vicente and Dolores Montoya; two brothers Arturo Barela and Louis Barela; two sisters Mary Aragon and Pauline Barela; 23 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Mrs. Montoya will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitations will be held on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Refreshments will be served following the rosary in the celebration of life room also at Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Edwin Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlos Montoya, Vincent Aragon, Joshua Montoya, Priscilla Padilla, Debra Montoya and Ramonsita "Mona" Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be James Montoya and Teresa Romero.
