Obituary for BROWN

Mathew Arnold Brown, 78, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1991, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2004. Mathew was born August 10, 1925 the son of Arnold Carr and Reddick Oleeh Brown in Martin County, North Carolina and attended school in Jamesville. From there he worked in the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. for about 2 years. He entered the Army in 1944 and served until 1954. He saw action in WW II, and the Korean War, and was very proud of his service. After Matt's time in the service he and his first wife Jo returned to Wisconsin. Matt owned a barbershop there until he retired. He married Violet in 1983 and they moved to Rio Rancho by Vi's daughter to retire in 1991. Matt was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Carr and Carrie Oleen (Reddick) Brown; brother, David James Brown, his wife Lydia Brown; brother Clarence Carr Brown, and Matt's first wife, Josephine Delores (Falsi) Brown. He is survived by his devoted wife Violet Marion (Mulhern) Brown, one sister, Carrie Lou (Brown) Moore and husband George; daughter, Diana (Brown) Tycznski and family in Wisconsin; step daughters, Ann Mulhern Waller and family, Mary Deangelo and family, and Patricia Kirkpatrick and family all in Wisconsin. The Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2004 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with the Mass being celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with Fr.
