Obituary for EDGAR

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday February 05, 2004

Judith Edgar died early Monday afternoon. She was at home, surrounded by her family, and at peace. As an incredible woman, wife, mother, sister, daughter, mentor and friend, her gentle, honest and human energy brought out the very best in others. Her work in the community through her church, with children in the CASA program, through Alcoholics Anonymous, in her career helping others, and with people in transition or striving to better themselves was a source of great joy and strength to her. Judith was an exceedingly positive person who actively cultivated and nurtured the garden of love that was her life. She was not afraid to be vulnerable, to share herself with others, and she loved absolutely without condition or distinction. She loved to laugh, to learn, and always pushed the envelope with vitality and energy. She never settled for the path of least resistance. Her depth of character, humor, and clarity of spirit allowed her to courageously persevere through many struggles to a personal and spiritual state of grace. She continued in that state of grace until a state of glory was achieved. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life and love will be held this Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church, 1801 Montano Road NW. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the following organizations: Presbyterian Peacekeeping Mission, Albuquerque CASA Program, Heifer International, and The American Cancer Society.
