Obituary for RIVERA

Karen Diane Dunbar Rivera, 43, a resident of Albuquerque for 19 years, passed away on January 27, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Louis Rivera of Albuquerque; children, Louis Christopher Rivera and wife, Maria Elena of Boston, MA, Alexander Raul Rivera of New York City, NY, Natalie LouAnn Rivera, Benjamin Kenneth Rivera and Dominic Robert Richard Rivera all of Albuquerque; father, Kenneth Ray Dunbar of Walters, OK; brother, Kevin Ray Dunbar and wife, Geraldine of Albuquerque; mother-in-law, Bertha B. Rivera and father-in-law, Raul A. Rivera both of Albuquerque. Karen is also survived by countless family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Marietta Martin Dunbar. Karen was a loving wife, mother and friend, and her dedication to the lives of others demonstrated tremendous self-sacrifice. Karen was enthusiastic and knowledgeable; she always spoke her mind. As a committed student of life, she strove to learn one new thing everyday, and then share her knowledge with everyone. Karen was a mother to all, and everyone witnessed her unending generosity. She was very proud of her children's accomplishments, always encouraging them to succeed. Friends and family may visit on Friday at 6:00 p.m. to be followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales with Fr. Clarence Galli, celebrant.
