Violet Naphan Kouri. Born March 12, 1915 in Bishop, California, the second of five children to Fred and Sophie Naphan. Moved to Berkeley California around 1920 and attended schools and Berkeley High School. Married Abraham Kouri in 1943 and settled in Albuquerque in 1944. Worked at Sandia from 1945 to 1980. Active in the Shriner's and Daughters of the Nile. Played in the Shrine Band. She is survived by her sister Leona Watt of Chico, California, 7 neices and nephews and a caring family of in-laws. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 31, 2004 at St. John's Cathedral, 318 Silver SW, Albuquerque. The family asks that flowers not be sent, but, instead donations made to Shriner's Children's Burn Hospital, c/o Ballut Abyud, 6600 Zuni Rd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
