Obituary for WEBSTER

Katherine B. Webster, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, January 16, 2004. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, William M. Webster; two sons and their families, James Webster and wife, Kathy of Fayetteville, AR and Bill Webster and wife, Lisa of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Kerry Gobel and husband, Jared of Fayetteville, AR, Becky of Fayetteville, AR, and Amy Hinnerichs and husband, Todd of Albuquerque; grandson, Burke and wife Crystal, of Albuquerque; and sister, Betty Ann Henry and husband Ben of Indianapolis, IN. Katherine was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in El Paso, TX, where she attended elementary and high school. She graduated from UNM in 1945 with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts. She was elected to Delta Phi Delta, honorary art fraternity and was a member of Town Club. Katherine and William were married in 1946 and have lived in Salt Lake City, Los Alamos and Denton, TX. She attended Texas Women's University in Denton, where she received her Master's in History. Katherine was elected to Phi Alpha Theta, honorary history fraternity. She taught history and art at Pilot Point High School, in Texas, for nine years, and was selected in 1975 as Outstanding Teacher of the year. Katherine and William both retired in 1979 and moved to Santa Fe, where she taught history and art at Santa Fe Indian School until 1987. Katherine and William then moved to Albuquerque. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 19, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual NE with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating.
